“Doubling down, delayed gratification. That’s a consistent narrative of our journey.”

Jered began his real estate journey 18 years ago as a maintenance technician. In 2008, he started acquiring distressed assets using the BRRRR method. Over the next decade, he scaled his business from single-family homes to properties with over 100 units. In 2016, he transitioned to syndication and has achieved significant success in the space.

“Results are what will attract money, and track record matters. It’s not complicated, but it certainly isn’t easy.”

Jered shares insights on how he navigates risk and makes strategic decisions for his business. He emphasizes using fixed-rate debt over bridge debt, as it aligns better with his business strategy. His approach focuses on making asymmetric bets, where the potential upside far outweighs the downside.

Jered also discusses how to take the leap into larger investments and scale your business effectively:

  • Continuously improve your skills by striving to be 1% better every day.
  • Document your processes and create detailed SOPs.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to free up time for strategic growth.
  • Establish clear KPIs, breaking them into three components: speed, quality, and quantity.
  • Maintain a well-defined org. chart, regardless of your company’s size.

At the end of the episode, Jered shares what excites him most about the next few years in real estate. He’s focused on growing his company and creating new opportunities for the team that helped him succeed. Over the next three years, his goals include expanding his portfolio to 4,000 units and refining their SOPs for even greater efficiency.
